Impact Assessment Study 2022-23

The study was carried out by the Madras School of Social Work (MSSW), an autonomous institution affiliated with the University of Madras. The impact assessment study utilised data collected through qualitative research methods and covered:

  • CSR projects of The Sanmar Group’s constituent entity Chemplast Sanmar Limited during the financial year 2022-23; and
  • CSR projects supported by The Sanmar Group CSR Trust, which were completed during the two financial years 2021-22 and 2022-23.

Highlights of Madras School of Social Work (MSSW) Impact Assessment report:

  1. All the projects have a strong raison d’être. Identifying projects based on actual need is a significant stepping stone for the success of any project and this is commendable.
  2. The participants (key informants and/ or beneficiaries) have affirmed the utility of the projects.
  3. The contribution of medical equipment and modernisation of medical facilities are practical and provide immediate pay-offs to the end-users
  4. Support for medical research is pivotal, given its scope for path-breaking findings.
  5. The weekly rural health camps are meaningful.
  6. The mega medical camp has provided access to secondary health care that would not have been affordable to the participants.
  7. Provision of piped water is a life-sustaining effort.
  8. The measures taken to clean the water storm channel are commendable.
  9. The contributions towards Infrastructure Development in Schools and Hospitals are noteworthy.
