Contribution towards Disaster Relief

In December 2023, The Sanmar Group CSR Trust supported the Tamil Nadu Government’s disaster management effort with a contribution of ₹100 lakhs to help Chennai recover from the impact of Cyclone Michaung.

COVID-19

Sanmar is committed towards strengthening the efforts of the State Government, District Administration, Village Panchayats, Public Health Centres, and local communities around to combat the crisis and contain the spread of the pandemic. As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, Sanmar has not only made sizeable financial contribution to the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund, but also provided a number of essentials, including pulse oximeters and geysers, oxygen concentrators, glucometers, thermometers and sanitisers, face shields and masks, water dispensers and hypochlorite solution.

The Tamil Nadu State Disaster management authority

The Sanmar Group contributed Rs 1.50 crore to the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund, helping the Government of Tamil Nadu in their efforts to fight the COVID pandemic. On May 19, 2021, Vijay Sankar attended a meeting held by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin for industrialists, where the CM sought the industrialists’ help in controlling the spread of Coronavirus and urged the industrialists to take up CSR projects in areas like oxygen supply; ventilators; oxygen generators; oxygen flow meters and cryogenic tanks/oxygen cylinders.
