The Sanmar Group contributed Rs 1.50 crore to the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund, helping the Government of Tamil Nadu in their efforts to fight the COVID pandemic. On May 19, 2021, Vijay Sankar attended a meeting held by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin for industrialists, where the CM sought the industrialists’ help in controlling the spread of Coronavirus and urged the industrialists to take up CSR projects in areas like oxygen supply; ventilators; oxygen generators; oxygen flow meters and cryogenic tanks/oxygen cylinders.
