Eisenwerk Erla has a 650 year old history of iron extraction and processing in the Schwarzwasser or ‘iron valley’. As part of the Schubert & Salzer Group, Eisenwerk Erla became a completely modern foundry producing niche products with patented technology, specific to the automobile industry. The foundry has more than 250 highly skilled employees.

Keeping with the trend of globalisation and expanding market spaces, The Sanmar Group acquired the foundry in January 2007.

Eisenwerk Erla has an excellent customer base including Borg Warner, IHI, Audi/ Volkswagen Group, BMW, Daimler Chrysler, Honeywell, MAN, MTU, Liebherr, Luk, etc.
