| Chemplast Sanmar acquires PVC pipes biz |

| Chemplast Sanmar Ltd, the flagship company of the Chennai-based Sanmar Group, has acquired the PVC pipes businesses of Polytrusions Pvt Ltd and Vinplex Pvt Ltd. The manufacturing facilities of these two companies combined have the capacity to produce around 25,000 tonnes per annum of pipes, according to a communication from Chemplast Sanmar to the stock exchanges. |
| Polytrusion is a Rs 100-crore company established in 1986 by a group of technocrats who had earlier worked in the plastics industry. Vinplex is a sister concern of Polytrusions. For Chemplast, the acquisitions would be a forward integration, since the company is putting up a greenfield PVC resin manufacturing unit at Cuddalore. |
