| Three of Sanmar Shipping’s vessels have been
awarded the Automated Mutual Assistance Vessel Rescue (AMVER)
certificates from the US Coast Guard (USCG). |
| Sanmar vessels have been participating since
the inception of the company in the AMVER programme, as a demonstration
of its commitment to Safety of Life at Sea. |
| AMVER collects vessels’ position information
sent out by ships participating in the programme and collates
it for the Search and Rescue Network to respond to emergencies
at sea. |
| A minimum of 128 days in a calendar year on
the AMVER plot is necessary to qualify for the annual award. |
| Three Sanmar ships, Symphony, Sentinel and
Pageant qualified for the award in 2002. Sanmar Sentinel, a
participant for five consecutive years, has qualified for a
gold pennant. |
