| Sanmar Speciality Chemicals Limited (SSCL),
Berigai organised a mass tree planting programme on World Environment
Day. More than 150 saplings of various tree species like the
medicinal Neem, Pongam, Naval, Tamarind, Millingtonia and Delonix
were planted by SSCL employees on the southern and western sides
of the factory. |
| Nearly 60 saplings were presented to the neighbouring
village, Kurubarapalli, on the occasion. R Srinivas from Karnataka
Cleaner Production Centre (KCPC), Bangalore, delivered a lecture
on ‘Environmental Protection and Pertinent Legislation’. |
| Over the last three years, SSCL has planted
over 5,500 saplings within its factory compound. Joining the
company’s efforts to make a greener Berigai, is every visitor
to the factory who plants a sapling to enhance the greenery. |
