| The Alathur unit of Sanmar Speciality Chemicals
Limited (SSCL) has been certified to ISO-9001 by RWTUV for design,
development, manufacture and supply of drugs, drug intermediates
and speciality chemicals. |
| The unit was recommended for certification
after a three-day assessment of the quality management system
by TUV India, in December 2001. SSCL Alathur is the first company
in the Sanmar group to receive the certification in line with
the revised standard, ISO-9001:2000. |
| The Alathur facility, the bulk drug manufacturing
facility of the erstwhile American Remedies Limited, was taken
over by SSCL in November 1999. The unit is located in the SIDCO
pharmaceutical complex near Thiruporur in Kancheepuram District. |
