On June 8, 2004, Richard D Haynes, U S Consul General in South India, presented the Corporate Citizen award instituted by the Rotary Club of Ambattur to Chemplast Sanmar Limited, represented by Managing Director P S Jayaraman.

It was fitting recognition of the leading role played by the company in maintaining the highest standards of corporate governance and social commitment. It was a public affirmation of the Sanmar group’s vision statement, which avows: “Combining integrity with excellence to ensure prosperity to all stakeholders on a continuous basis”

A citation presented at the function applauded the group’s outstanding record in managerial excellence, dynamic leadership and ethical business practices. Those who spoke on the occasion emphasised the need for corporates to adhere to the highest ethical standards. Chemplast, they said, showed the way.
