| Bhumi puja for Tyco Sanmar

| Tyco Sanmar Limited, the new joint venture
between Tyco International, USA and the Sanmar group was formed
in February 1999, subsequent to the purchase of the Crosby Valve
division by Tyco International, USA. The new facility at Viralimalai
will source more components to meet the increasing demand worldwide. |
| The Bhumi puja for the new facility was performed
on March 31, 1999 in the presence of K S Narayanan, Chairman
Emeritus, Sanmar group and N Kumar, Vice Chairman, Sanmar group.
The construction work is expected to be completed by 30th September
this year and production is expected to start in October, 1999.
