| Bangalore Genei joins Sanmar |

| On December 9, 2003, the Sanmar group acquired
Bangalore Genei Pvt. Ltd., a biotech company in Bangalore engaged
in the manufacture of reagent chemicals for genetic engineering
research. The company which also makes teaching kits for molecular
biology and immunology, will be a subsidiary of Sanmar Speciality
Chemicals Ltd (SSCL). |
| Bangalore Genei will provide a platform for
SSCL’s entry into Biotechnology and will complement its existing
and growing Chemistry Research activities. |
| Being part of the Sanmar group will enable
Bangalore Genei to grow its existing business both in terms
of penetration into international markets as well as development
of new products. The excellent technical capabilities of the
scientists in Bangalore will also provide a strong foundation
for the group to grow into biology and biotechnology research
services. |
