| Elf group a true partner of
India |
| Elf ATO, the Sanmar group’s joint venture
partner, has been keen on developing research and development capabilities
in India. Towards this end, it has entered into a tie-up with Central
Leather Research Institute (CLRI), Chennai, to conduct research on
the use of certain fluorinated polymers for producing waterproof and
oil proof leathers. The other areas of research include molecular
modelling to understand the relationship between structures and properties
of polymers. The project, expected to be completed in two years, will
cost Rs.35.00 lakh. The Elf ATO tie-up will help CLRI to establish
themselves in the global market, with a cost-efficient R & D centre. |
| Elf donates Rs. 25.00 lakh for eye-care |
| In addition to promoting indigenous research and
development, the Elf group also demonstrated its commitment to the
welfare of Indian people through a donation of Rs.25 lakh by Atopil
to Sankara Nethralaya, the Chennai-based eye-care institution. |
